Narrative Intoductions - Self Check Skills

Author’s Note:  As I am finishing this school year, I am going to be practicing basic skills that I need to have mastered.  I am going to be putting together sample introductions with a narrative feeling to them. I want to demonstrate that I can create several introductions that can be advanced.

Topic:  Morning Sunshine makes a Perfect Day

As you wake up, you are blinded by light that is coming through your curtains.  Your rested up legs get out of bed and stroll over towards the window where the light is coming from.  As you pull the curtains aside, the bright golden sun blinds me as I look past the sand and onto the water.  There is not a single cloud in the sky as the sunshine flows through my window like water flowing through a street during a hurricane.   My mind races through all the possibilities of activities that we could do today: water skiing, swimming, scuba-diving, tubing, and more.  The morning glow of the sun really makes the start of the day special, plus the variety of options are endless.

Topic:  Water Skiing out on Pewaukee Lake

The engine roars as the boat accelerates through the open water.  You are dragged for several seconds, but eventually you get pulled up above the water.  Water spits up onto your legs and swim trunks as you get pulled along by the boat.  Your legs and hands get stiff from being in that specific position for a long period of time. Getting dragged in and out of the center grooves makes the ride interesting because areas of water could be uneven, and you could go through waves that have been created by other boaters.  Water skiing brings me great joy in the summer, it gives me a chance to enjoy the water and have a good time.
